David started Littlefield Marketing and Advertising in 1980, with a view toward creating an agency that put the emphasis on marketing-based creativity, not the other way around. During that time, there were many agencies around the country that were headed by creative people who tried to get the creative cart to push the marketing horse. This marketing-based approach, with a view toward creating more sales opportunities, was a refreshing and differentiating factor that launched and sustained the Littlefield agency during a tumultuous time for advertising agencies that witnessed the demise of more than 70 percent of the agencies based in Oklahoma through the late '80s and early '90s.

Believing the future of the advertising agency business would hinge upon an agency's ability to bring deeper customer insights to clients, David started an account planning discipline at Littlefield in 1995. That expertise has grown to become the foundation of our firm, giving Littlefield a unique ability to produce the evidence of what will be the most effective message strategy for a given brand and provide a focus for creative, engaging storytelling that influences customer buying behavior.

As we have fine-tuned this customer-centric approach, Littlefield has evolved to a holistic brand development firm that helps brands create incremental revenue opportunities by being more relevant and engaging to their customers.
